Background of the Partnership

Cameroon has made significant progress in the fight against malaria, yet the disease remains a major public health challenge. Limited resources, technological infrastructure, and human capacity continue to pose challenges to the effective implementation of malaria prevention and control interventions across the country.

The National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) of Cameroon is committed to protecting populations at risk through effective malaria prevention interventions and reducing malaria-related morbidity and mortality. As Cameroon continues to strengthen its efforts toward malaria elimination, innovative technologies have the potential to complement existing approaches and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of malaria control activities.

SORA Technology develops innovative solutions that combine drones, satellite data, AI, and digital technologies to address global health and environmental challenges. In particular, high-resolution environmental data collected through drone and other geospatial technologies can help identify and monitor areas with a higher risk of mosquito breeding, supporting more targeted and data-driven vector control interventions.

Recognizing the potential of these technologies to strengthen malaria control efforts in Cameroon, NMCP Cameroon and SORA Technology have signed an MOU to establish a framework for collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
